Wedding in Provence

This September I was hired to cover a cocktail hour for a beautiful wedding in Provence. The ceremony took place in Eze on the French Riviera, then cocktail hour was held in a gorgeous villa in the department of Var where yours truly frolicked with her camera to capture this special event.

It was a very hot and sunny afternoon, as any photographer would tell you, those were not the best conditions. But i’m not afraid of sunny skies. If those are the cards I’m dealt, I make the most of them. Strong shadows and overblown highlights can be used to create dramatic images. Plus, turns out black and white edits look incredible with those contrasted light conditions.

My job (that I assigned to myself during my photo session prep) was to document the event as it was. The dancing, the food, the emotions. I wanted to create a photo documentary of the wedding as it happened. I did several staged photos of the guests and the couple but mostly I captured the event the way it was.
